Information for Private Schools

Expanding and defending private school choice in Arizona is our mission and we know that our vibrant private school community is critical to the success of this mission.

Thank you for what you do to provide a safe, caring environment where your students can grow and succeed.

We hope you find that our website is both a valuable source of information about Arizona’s school choice programs and the organizations that work to promote and defend these programs at the state and national level.

Did you know that in the last two years, there were over TWENTY-FOUR hostile bills filed at the State Capitol that, if enacted would have been devastating to our private schools and the families that depend on Arizona’s scholarship programs?

Arizona’s STO community works tirelessly to provide scholarships to tens of thousands of families through the tuition tax credit programs.  ASTOA is on the front lines working to educate, promote and defend these programs.

What is a qualified school?

Qualified school means a nongovernmental primary or secondary school, or a preschool for handicapped students, that is located in Arizona and that does not discriminate based on race, color, handicap, familial status or national origin.

Qualified school does not include a charter school or any program operated by a charter school.
